Anna Rita Sevitski, 99, of Fairfield, CT, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in her home with her devoted family by her side. Anna was born in 1916 to her parents Louis and Erminia DeBellis.

She was raised in Hazelton, PA along with 8 brothers and sisters, sharing a lifetime of experience growing up together. Anna was startled by a handsome mechanic while he was repairing a refrigerator at the local creamery where she worked. Soon she married this mechanic, Joseph Sevitski, and they moved to start their own life together in Bridgeport, CT. After some convincing from Joseph, she moved to a growing Lake Hills community in Fairfield, CT, where they would spend the majority of their lives and 50 year storybook marriage. A caring and gentle soul, Anna dedicated her life to her family and friends.

She learned how to build a loving family from her mother Erminia while helping raise her younger siblings. Later Anna would live her dream – raising three children of her own with Joseph, passing down countless lessons, stories, and recipes, for them to use in raising their own families. In almost a decade Anna would face many hardships and handled them with admirable strength – including nurturing her husband Joseph through his battle with Parkinson’s disease, her son Joseph after serving in war, and her son Thomas with his fight with cancer. Anna was predeceased by her husband Joseph, parents Louis and Erminia, siblings Dora, Frank, Neal, Tony, Mary, Angeline, Betty, and George, and sons Joseph Jr. and Thomas.

She is survived by her legacy, her family: daughter Deborah Lake; son in-law William Lake, daughter in-law Patricia Sevitski; grandchildren Sean Sevitski, Jonas Sevitski, Michele Britt, Brian Caldwell, and Jason Caldwell; and great grandchildren Ben and Miles Sevitski, Victor Fontanez, Daron and Tiani Britt, and Gianna Caldwell. Anna and the family share great appreciation for numerous friends and caregivers, who helped her during their time of need, including Hospice and particular Sabina and Cynthia.
