Sadly, on July 28, 2018, Anna May Miltiades departed this world to be with her Saviour.

Born in New Jersey almost 84 years to the day, she has resided in the Glen Burnie area for over 50 years.  Early in life she spent time as a military wife and was posted to various duty stations around the globe.  She was an enlisted person herself just after the Korean war serving as an administrative secretary for which she was very proud.  Anna continued her civil service in the Maryland state government ultimately retiring in the mid 90’s.

Anna loved her church family and regularly attended the Living Word Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was a willing and eager volunteer.  She is known as someone who was always helping people, particularly the needy and elderly for whom she dedicated most of her waking hours.  Anna had a deep love for children as well.   She rarely took time for herself but when she did she enjoyed gardening;  she was very fond of her plants.  Most of all Anna was a dedicated and loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother and she was particularly attached to her grandson Howard, Jr.  She would say, “having children is a blessing but having a grandchild;  It is truly wonderful.”

Anna is preceded in death by her husband of 15 years Clem Miltiades and later Donald Shipley.

Surviving her are her son Howard G. Leonard, Sr. and his wife Terri E. (nee Geis) as well as Raymond “Ronnie” Leonard.

She has a loving sister  Pat who continues on and  she joins in passing her siblings Claire, Kay, Marie, Doris, Judy, Carl, Buster and Howard.

The world is a better place because she was a part of it………
