     Anna Marie Lowder, 78, a resident of Wendell, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at her home in Wendell.

     Anna was born May 20, 1944 in Buhl, Idaho, the eldest daughter of Marion Elmo and Ruth Elizabeth Short. She attended schools in Twin Falls and Gooding and graduated from Wendell High School in 1962.  Immediately after graduation she enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.  She served two years and was honorably discharged in May of 1964.

     While serving in the Marine Corp. she met her future husband – GySgt. Lynne “Lee” Harlan Rutter.  They were married on December 20, 1963 and together had two daughters – Jolene Rae and Nikki Ann.  Lee passed away on November 5, 1970 while stationed in Vietnam.

     Several years later, Anna met the man who would become her second husband – Donald “Don” Hugh Lowder.  She described him to her girls as “So handsome, 6 foot 2 with eyes of blue”.  They were married on November 25, 1978 and together had daughter – Marci Denise.  Sadly, Don passed away of natural causes on June 2, 1998.

     Anna worked a number of different jobs throughout the years, but always considered her “career” to be that of a dental assistant.  She began that career working for Dr. Jack Adams, DMD in Jerome, then for Dr. Jack Kulm, DMD after moving to Wendell.  She went back to Dr. Adam’s office for several years and it was his office from which she eventually retired.

     Anna is survived by: two daughters – Jolene (Shawn) Jones and Marci Connell; one brother – Marvin (Carol) Short; one sister – Linda (Winston) Kennedy; six grandchildren – Ben Harbaugh, Alex (Kristeen) Harbaugh, Nikki Harbaugh, Chris Harbaugh, Shayley Connell and Jadin Connell; two great grandchildren – Kai and Octavia.

     She was preceded in death by: her parents – Elmo and Ruth Short; both husbands – Lee Rutter and Don Lowder; her daughter – Nikki Rutter; and grandson – Tobi Connell.
