Anna Mae Cazon was born on July 23, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa to John and Juanita Cazon. She was the fifth of eleven siblings. In 1950, the family moved to San Diego, California, where Anna attended the Kingdom Hall faithfully. As a young girl, Anna Mae and her sisters formed a singing group, “The Cazonettes”. They performed throughout San Diego for many years. Anna Mae attended Stockton Elementary, Memorial Junior High and graduated from Hoover High School in 1962, where she was the first black cheerleader in San Diego.

In 1963, Anna married Jimmy Monroe and was blessed with two wonderful children, Zina Lorraine and Jimmy Rae.

Anna later met her soul-mate, Henry Lee Edwards, affectionately known as “Hanky”. They shared forty joyous years together; they were inseparable.

In 1968, Anna began working as a local union grocery attendant, making many long-lasting friendships along the way.

Anna was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

On Monday, September 30, 2013 Anna Mae Cazon went to enjoy her Eternal Life with the Lord. Although we loved her, God loved her more and called her home.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Cazon; her mother, Juanita “Toots” Weaver; grandson, Jimmy Monroe, lll and grandparents, McKinley and Sara Tarpley. . She leaves to cherish the memories her loving partner, Henry “Hanky” Lee Edwards; daughter, Zina Lorraine Monroe Nesbitt; son, Jimmy Rae Monroe, Jr. all of San Diego CA; grandson, Morgan Kenneth Womack; granddaughters, Megan Anna Latrice and Monyette Renia; great-granddaughters, Eveanna Womack and Ja’lice Michelle Johnson; sisters, Shirley Anne Lott, Floy Marie Porter, Vera Lucille Daniel, Janice Elaine North (Willie), Donna Vyette Williams (John), Shelia Marlene Edwards (Dave), Karlisa and Jones, Vickie Vines; two brothers, Ricky Nance and Tony Weaver; best friends, Onnye Chamberlain, Dorrinah Leonard and Debbie Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
