Anna Marie “Ann” Dudding, 78, of Old U.S. 20 West, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 2, 2007) in Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Elkhart.
She was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Williams River, W.Va., to Floyd M. and Ora (Calhoun) Wyatt. She married Jerome “Red” Dudding on July 28, 1951, in Webster Springs, W.Va. He died in 2003.
She is survived by four sons, Gary (Janet) Dudding, Dave (Debbie) Dudding and Gregg Dudding, all of Elkhart. and Dean Dudding of Middlebury; one daughter, Robin (Claren) Hanson of Shipshewana; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert “Bob” Wyatt of Cowen, W.Va.; and one sister, June (Gerald) Nettles of Ocala, Fla.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester and Frank Wyatt; and one sister, Dean Haines.
Mrs. Dudding was a 1945 graduate of Webster County High School, W.Va., and a lifelong homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, free-hand artistry, reading and creating songs and poetry. She was a volunteer at Elkhart General Hospital for many years, serving as a Red Coat and a TV hostess.
She held a real-estate license and had worked for Dick Carl and Associates Realty. She served as den mother for the Cub Scouts and rooted for the Cubs and White Sox. She was a longtime member of TOPS 966.
