Anna Elizabeth Frey, 92, of Lincroft, passed away at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ on September 10, 2022. Anna was born in Jersey City to Thomas and Anna (Lovering) Connelly and moved to Bayonne after marrying the love of her life, William H. Frey, to raise their family.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Leo the Great RC Church in Lincroft and St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Bayonne. Anna was a proud graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Snyder High School in Jersey City. Anna worked for many years at the Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne. She was a longtime coach of the Bayonne PAL Basketball League and a dedicated member of the Holy Family Academy Mother’s Club.
Anna was loved by all and will be remembered for her beautiful smile, spirit and kindness. She valued her family, and her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved the ocean breeze while sitting on the Spring Lake boardwalk, was a faithful fan at her grandchildren’s many sporting events, and especially enjoyed baking cupcakes for their birthday parties.
