Anna E. Jones of Burlington passed away suddenly at her residence on Saturday at the age of 89. Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.(Psalm 127:3) Anna cherished being an ambassador of Jesus Christ at St. Paul School and St. Katharine Drexel Parish. Anna worked for the Burlington County Library System as a youth director and then as the Assistant Director for the County Library System. Anna hosted puppet plays and story hours at the library.

She was also instrumental in starting the Book Mobile, which would travel to different communities throughout Burlington County encouraging the benefits of reading. The book mobile allowed many members of the county to gain access to books, who may not of had the means to travel to a library. Additionally, Anna served as a volunteer and on the Board for The Library Company of Burlington for 49 years and 11 months retiring in April of 2017. She has helped generations enjoy reading and learning in the City of Burlington and Township of Burlington. Anna was also known as “Sister Anna” to many in the St. Paul Community, where she served as Director of Religious Education, Librarian and Greeter. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector, was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and Church choir for St. Paul’s Church.

Anna’s love of her faith, reading to children and being a child of God herself, sustained her as she was a gentle soul who has served faithfully during her lifetime. She will be remembered and missed by many generations of St. Paul Faithful. She was predeceased by her parents Frank A. and Anna E. Myers Jones, her brother Deacon Francis Jones and her sister in law Helen. She is survived by her nephew and his wife James F. and Valerie Jones and a niece Lisa Ann Jones all of Burlington.
