Anna Dupree, a resident of the Howland Avenue Group Home at Ability Beyond in Beacon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family of friends on October 14, 2021; she was 93-years old. She was born in New York, on June 22, 1928, daughter of the late Harry C. & Matilde (Brox) Dupree.

Since early childhood, she lived at Wassaic Institution in Amenia, NY. When Wassaic closed, she moved to a group home in Catskill, NY where she spent several years with its loving staff. Eight-years ago she was transferred to The Howland Home in Beacon; this was a new building which was designed for clients with physical disabilities. She was the first resident, and she also had the title of being the oldest resident. The staff at Howland considered her family and gave her loving care.  Through the years, she was always surrounded by love and never felt alone.

Anna enjoyed the simplest of things, from spending time outside taking in nature at the foot of Mount Beacon, doing puzzles, drinking her coffee, to listening to the oldies. She particularly loved it when people helped her with every day arts & craft projects at the home.

Along with her parents, Anna was predeceased by her sister Janet Kew. Anna is survived by her two sisters, Ruth Anne Dupree and Jeanne Geiger; her two nieces, one nephew, two grand-nieces, and her beloved family of friends at the Howland Avenue Home.
