Anna Dell (Tindle) Mathisen, 67, of Temple passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at a Belton Nursing home.

Anna was born on July 10, 1954 in Del Rio, Texas to Grady and Anna Yvonne (Atkins) Tindle. She grew up in Belton and graduated from Belton High School in 1972, where she was a proud member of the Marching 100. Anna received her bachelor’s in biology from Howard Payne in 1976 and worked as a phlebotomist for over 40 years at various labs. She also taught high school biology for a period of time. Anna was a selfless woman who always put other’s needs ahead of her own, and she would do anything for her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Mathisen battled for many years with Moya Moya disease, a severe aneurysm disease that causes bleeding in the brain. Whether it was beating bladder cancer twice, or surviving over a dozen surgeries, she refused to let the disease define her. She was a true warrior and an inspiration to those who were lucky enough to have known her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and  sisters, Cheri Banister, and Candace Campbell.

She is survived by her son Ryan Baldwin; daughter Rachael Mathisen; son Reid Mathisen; 3 grandchildren; and her brother Michael Tindle.
