Anna “Ann” Schmidt, 93, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Benefis Skilled Nursing Facility of natural causes.
Ann was born October 15, 1922 in Fallon, MT to Gottlieb and Christine Siegle. She was educated and raised on the Fairfield Bench.
She married Arthur “Art” Schmidt on December 4, 1941 in Great Falls, MT. Art passed away October 14, 1999.
Ann cherished the special moments “babysitting” all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, crafts, reading and feeding her squirrels.
Ann and Art enjoyed bowling, boating, fishing, camping with family and friends. They also enjoyed their time together as members of the Elks, Moose and Eagles Lodge.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, LaVerne and Gary Howard of Great Falls; daughter-in-law and son-in-law Sherrie and Ron Beck of Billings. Grandchildren, Brandee (Ruffo) Michelotti of Great Falls; Vernon (Michelle) Howard of Lewistown; Christine (Joel) McNeese of Great Falls; Gretchen (Steve) Grubidge of Great Falls; Heath (Tana) Schmidt of Billings; and Heather (John) Soelter of Billings. Great-Grandchildren, Joseph and Katia Michelotti of Great Falls; Connor McNeese of Great Falls; Karissa Willems of Great Falls; Danyelle, Delaney and Brenden Schmidt of Billings; and Kassi, Alli and Shelbi Soelter of Billings. Her sister Meta Price of Great Falls and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Gottlieb and Christine Siegle; husband Art Schmidt; son Vernon Schmidt; infant daughter, Luella Schmidt; her brothers Arthur Siegle; twins, Oscar and Arnie Siegle; and her sister Lorraine Wysoski.
