HAVERHILL – Anna (Karaganis) Andromidas, 75, longtime Haverhill resident passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2016, at the Wingate at Haverhill.
She was born on December 21, 1940, in Ierakas, Lakonia, Greece, daughter of the late Kostantinos and Eleni (Belesi) Karaganis.
Loving wife of almost 49 years to Lambros Andromidas. They married in Greece, lived in Athens for a short time before immigrating to the United States, settling in Haverhill. They raised their family together and she worked as a stitcher for Grieco Brothers for 25 years until her retirement. Anna’s activities included cooking, baking Greek cookies, gardening and planting. Most of all, she was devout to her Greek Orthodox faith. Her family was the center of her life especially her three cherished grandsons.
Her surviving family members in addition to her husband include her caring daughter Anastasia Dimopoulos and husband James of Haverhill; grandsons George, Louis (Lambros) and Dean (Kosta); siblings Dimitrios Karaganis of Nashua, NH, Anastasios Karaganis of Haverhill and Elias Karaganis of N. Attleborough; several nieces and nephews; sister of the late Maria Karaganis and Panagiota Karaganis.
