Ann Walsh Gaughan of Fairfield, passed away Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, with her two loving daughters by her side. Born in Scranton, PA on July 10, 1933 to John and Mary Walsh, she was a Nurse at St Vincent’s Medical Center for 25 years, and until recently, worked for the St Vincent’s Wellness Center performing Blood Pressure and Cholesterol screenings.
Ann loved her puppy Kelly; time spent with her family and friends, reading, crossword and word search puzzles, lunches with the girls and Friday nights at the Gaelic American Club. She was a special and beautiful person both inside and out and she touched the lives of everyone whom she met. Ann was predeceased by the love of her life, John Gaughan Sr., whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this October and her two beloved sons Daniel Patrick Gaughan and John Gaughan Jr. She was also predeceased by her father, mother and her two siblings John “Bud” Walsh and Mary Walsh McLaine.
Survivors include her twin sister Alice Hart; two daughters Kathleen Sweeney and her husband Michael of Indianapolis IN and Ann Michek and her husband Gary of Shelton; her 5 loving grandchildren Tim (Brandi) Sweeney, Katie (Jason) Trennepohl, John Gaughan III, Ken (Sarah) Michek and Shannon (Jeff) Foreman; her very precious great grandchildren: Emma Sweeney, Kaylee Trennepohl, John Gaughan IV and Kaylee Gaughan. Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her special friend Jackie McLaine.
