Ann Marie McClave Brown, formerly of Westfield Center, OH passed away in Eatonton, GA on Sunday May 5, 2019 at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing surrounded by her family. She was 95. She was born in Uhrichsville, OH on October 13, 1923 to the late Elmer Weir McClave of Toronto, OH and Helen Irene Dickson McClave of Canfield, OH. She was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Muskingum College. On June 18, 1947 she married her college sweetheart Robert Hall Brown from Dubois, PA and they spent 66 happy years together until his death in August of 2013. During her working career she was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist at Medina and Cloverleaf Public Schools in Ohio. Ann resided in Westfield Center, OH prior to moving to Lake Oconee and making her home at The Harbor. Some of her favorite pastimes were bridge, golf, tennis, reading, and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her daughters, Sue Ann Bird (David) of Grand Rapids, MI; Deborah Nungesser (Dave) of Eatonton, GA; Beth Huth (James) of Westfield Center, OH; and Jane Hyland (Robert) of Phoenixville, PA; sisters-in-law; Mary Lee McClave of Uhrichsville, OH and Betty Brown of Dubois, PA; grandchildren, Jason (Christa), Jonathon (Gretchen), and Jeffery (Courtney) Bird, Ashley (Kane) McGukin and Meghan (Tommy) Burke, Whitney (Mark) Pomeroy and Cameron Huth, and John, Kevin, and Brian Hyland; and 16 great-grandchildren.
