Ann M. Ennenbach, 92, of Peru died May 16, 2014 at Heritage Health Nursing Home in Peru.
Mrs. Ennenbach was born August 12, 1921 in La Salle to Frank and Mary (Zokal) Vogrinc. She attended St. Roch’s grade school in La Salle and La Salle-Peru Township High School. She graduated from the Red Cross nurse’s aide program in La Salle in 1944. She worked at Westclox for 16 years prior to her marriage. In January 1956 she wed Peter J. Ennenbach, a widower with three young children, and they resided in LaSalle until his death in July 1984.
She moved to Heritage Health in 2007. Mrs. Ennenbach was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed baking, especially potica and cookies, gardening, singing in the church choir and caring for her family and friends. She was a member of the St. Joseph/Resurrection Church Altar and Rosary Society in La Salle, the St. Bede Mothers Club and the Slovene National Benefit Society (S.N.P.J).
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo (John, Jr.) Gehant of West Brooklyn; two stepsons, Joseph (Maryann) Ennenbach of Peru and John Ennenbach of Grayslake; one stepdaughter, Catherine Schmitt of Lombard; ten grandchildren, Kristen (Rohan) Heron of Chicago, David J. (Rachael) Schweickert of Gilbert, Ariz., Adam Schmitt of Ottawa, Laura (Gary) Zemann of Bloomington, Julie (Adam) Radford of Milwaukee, Wis., Ryan Schmitt of Peru, Neil Ennenbach of Savannah, Ga., Marjorie Ennenbach of Milwaukee, Wis., Adam Kalinowski of Tempe, Ariz. and Anthony Kalinowski of Chicago; seven great-grandchildren, Ella and Demi Schweickert, Elliott and Harper Heron, Miles Radford and Anthony and Sierra Kalinowski; one sister, Tillie Wallace of Washington, W.Va. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter; three sisters and one brother.
