Ann E. Modesitt, 84, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday night, May 21, 2017 at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.
Ann was born on January 5, 1933, in Ottawa to John and Ann (Vercimak) Vatsula.
Ann was married to the love of her life Thomas “Swampy” Modesitt and together they spent a lifetime raising their family. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker to their large family. In her quiet time she enjoyed reading. After Tom’s retirement, they ran the Village Lounge, in Naplate, where everyone enjoyed her company.
She is survived by 6 children, Bob (Connie) Wawerski, of Ottawa, Tina Wawerski, of Peru, Ray (Peggy) Wawerski, of Utica, Roy Wawerski, of Louisiana, Dora Gunn, of Grand Junction, CO, and Troy Modesitt, of Grand Junction, CO, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren a brother, John (Emily) Vatsula, of Lodi, CA, and many other loving family members and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas, her brother Tom, a son Russell, and a daughter Tracy.
