Ann E. Gordon (Schveninger), 86, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Manor Court Nursing Home in Freeport. She was born in Metuchen, NJ on June 23, 1930, the daughter of Frank &Katherine Schveninger.
She met Don Gordon in January 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana. They got engaged in February 1950 and married at her home in September 1951. They lived in New Jersey, Colorado & Wyoming before settling in Glenview, IL where they lived for 53 years. They moved to Freeport in 2013. She and her devoted husband recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent baker and worked for several years in the bakery at Glenbrook South High School. She loved to sing and especially enjoyed her time with the Starlite Singers, the Glenview Senior Center Chorus. She loved camping and travelling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ann is survived by her husband, Don, and four sons – Donald (Theresa Jones), Stephen (Terri Bright), Gary (Mary Pat Riggs), Greg (Nancy Iverson) and one daughter, JoAnne (Steve Mohan), 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank, and grandson Justin. She is finally at peace and with them in God’s presence.
