Ann was many things to many people: wife, mother, business owner, teacher, author, mentor and friend. She was a social person who enjoyed entertaining her many and varied friends. Her home was a reflection of her life and personality; warm and friendly. An Ann Aletti party meant an eclectic mixture of people, ideas, conversation and laughter.

Born in South Jersey’s farm country in 1915, she was orphaned at age three and raised by the Sorcinelli family of Vineland, New Jersey. and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her entire life was the story of perseverance, self-improvement, teaching and helping and inspiring others. Ann was widowed in 1955 after only ten years of marriage to Al Aletti, a talented and rising young nuclear engineer, who was killed in a tragic plane crash in Canada. She packed up her home and three young children in Glenside, Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1956 to start a new life for her and her family.

Upon moving to Fort Lauderdale, Mrs. Aletti purchased a small apartment complex on Bayshore Boulevard at the beach. As her children grew, she moved the family across the Intracoastal Waterway to Victoria Park, where she raised her family and continued to live for 40 years.

Ann is survived by her son Vincent, a successful writer in New York City; two daughters Ann, a teacher and mother of two living in Marietta, Geogia, and Adele, the owner of the unique boutique Gone Bonkers in New Smyrna Beach, Florida; and two granddaughters, Cara and Aimee Russo, both of Marietta, Georgia.

The family suggests memorials to either Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129, or to the Domestic Abuse Council, Inc., c/o Emergency Shelter, Post Office Box 142, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114.
