SHIRLEY, ANITA LOUISE- Anita Louise Shirley, 62, of Roswell, NM was born in Harrisburg, PA to Frank and Betty Putt on Sept. 4, 1957. She passed away suddenly on Monday, October 21, 2019.
Anita called Roswell home for the last 36 years. She graduated from ENMU with honors in 1998 and worked as a teacher for 18 years. She loved teaching young children and specialized in working with special needs children.
She married Jerry Shirley on Dec. 21, 1974. They were soon to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary. She leaves behind 5 children: Jennifer Patane, Amy Salazar, Frank Shirley, Barbara Shirley and Lori Shirley. Along with 7 grandchildren.
Preceding Anita in death were her parents Frank Putt, Betty Collins and brother Leonard (Buddy) Putt. Living siblings include Marcia Gochenaur, and Shirley Nease.
Anita was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church since 1984. She was a strong-fast christian with a very gentle, sweet spirit. Quiet, smart and soft spoken were her defining character traits.
An avid reader, fossil collector and lover of all things frog related. She will be sorely missed by all she left behind. But only until we meet again in paradise!
