“The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the love of a Mother.” – St. Therese of Lisieux The tender, patient, loving lady that has blessed our lives for many years has been called home. Anita Dawn (Richey) Daugherty Bell, 75, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Anita, the first of twelve children, was born to A.W. and Doris Richey on March 14, 1939 in Austin, Texas.

She was raised in Bartlett and earned her teaching degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. For most of her adult life, Anita stayed home and garnished her family with love. She cooked wonderful meals, sewed many articles of clothing, introduced her children to the Lord, and nourished their relationship with Christ. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Little River for over 30 years, serving as Sunday School teacher and choir member. After her youngest child started school, she began teaching at Central Texas Christian School – where she stayed until she retired. After her late husband passed away, Anita married Ron Bell and moved her church membership to First United Methodist Church in Belton.

Together, they served others by volunteering with Vista Care (now Gentiva Hospice). She and Ron enjoyed five beautiful years together before Anita’s diagnosis with cancer. Anita’s family is forever grateful to Ron for his outpouring of love for her and for making her feel like a queen. “We love you, Ron.” We would like to extend a very special thank you to Park Place Manor and Gentiva. Through challenging moments, you helped our mother live as fully and comfortably as possible. You have been of great help and we appreciate the care you provided. Those gone on before her include her parents; infant daughter, Kathy Daugherty; late husband (of 48 years), Henry Daugherty, Sr.; brother, Oel (Bubby) Richey; and sister, Phyllis Williams.

Anita is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 5 ½ years, Ron Bell; son, Henry Daugherty, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Moffat; daughter, Karen Soefje and Mark Gass of Geronimo; daughter, Joy Crosby and husband, James of Belton; step-daughter, Hope Prkut of Bastrop; step-daughter, Gloria Bell of Temple; step-son Tim Bell and wife, Tiffany of Allen; 22 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nine brothers and sisters.
