MILARDO, ANGELO JOSEPH
Angelo Joseph Milardo of New Haven, fell asleep in death on January 17, 2012 at the age of 100. He was born in Cromwell, CT on January 29, 1911 to Scilian immigrants Luigi and Maria Milardo. Following difficult labor during the Great DePression, he went to radio school in the 1930s. He later owned a radio and music store in Cromwell, but closed his business when he was drafted into the Army. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Signal Corps, traveling across Europe and was present during numerous engagements of World War II, including the Siege of Normandy. After the war, he struggled to meet demand for his new business venure, Milardo’s Radio & TV.
