BRADFORD – Angelo A. Venezia, 89, a lifetime resident of Haverhill and Bradford, passed peacefully on Wednesday evening, April 16, 2014 at Hannah Duston Healthcare.
Angelo was born February 15, 1925 to Peter and Katherine (Belmonte) Venezia. He attended Haverhill Trade School.
He was the loving husband of 62 years to Mary ‘Sis’ (Mahoney) Venezia. They raised their family in Bradford.
Angelo had many careers. In his younger years he worked with his father at the family owned Venezia’s Economy Market on High Street. He was a truck driver for a short time and then started Venezia Ravioli Company which was sold later to a large dairy producer. He was a Haverhill restaurateur, owner and operator of Angelo’s Fish and Chips during the 1960’s and Angelo’s Delicatessen in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. In the mid 1970’s Angelo obtained his teaching certificate in order to be a chef instructor at the Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School. He taught there until his retirement in 1994. Angelo loved teaching at the ‘Voke’ and would hear from his former students often up until his passing.
Angelo loved travel including his many trips to the western U.S.A.
