Angelina “Lena” LaCava March 9, 1922 – July 13, 2022
Lena was born of Italian immigrants on March 9, 1922 in Seattle, Washington. She was the eldest of five children in a very loving and giving family. Lena married Joe LaCava on April 18, 1942, a marriage that lasted 53 years ending in Joe’s passing in 1995.
After numerous jobs, Lena acquired a job with Osborn & Ulland Sporting Goods in Seattle in 1956 and worked there for 17 years as their bookkeeper and “go-to-gal”. She then began working for Blue Cross and retired in 1984. She and Joe moved to Boise, Idaho where they enjoyed bowling, playing cards and gardening. Lena also loved sewing and crocheting. She especially enjoyed and took pride in making homemade pasta. She loved having dinners for her family and friends.
Lena lead her life always helping, always giving and always with a can-do attitude. She passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022, after living a remarkable 100 years!
Lena is survived by her son, Jerry and his wife Annie; her daughter, Barbara and her husband Ken; her five grandchildren, Jeff and his wife Debbie, Angela, Amanda, Sam and his wife Crystal and Grant; her four great-grandchildren Brian, Sebastian, William and Davin; as well as her sister Hilda, her cousins, Nicky and Frank and numerous nieces and nephews. Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Leibert and Anna; her husband, Joe and her sisters, Lucy and Nickie; her brother Danny and her cousins Josie, Jenny and Mary.
We wish to extend our deepest appreciation to Stacy and her staff at Edgewood at Spring Creek for their loving care.
