Angela Toce Bengtson, 50, of Newington, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Emil A. Bengtson for 31 years. Born in Hartford, daughter of Anthony Toce, Jr. and the late Shirley (LaFlamme) Toce, she attended Berlin High School and resided in Newington for nearly 30 years where she and her husband made their home and raised their family. Her greatest passion was caring for her loved ones, young and old, including her beloved dogs. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, family vacations at the cabin in VT and collecting rocks from across the globe. Along with her husband and father, Angela leaves her son Jeremiah Bengtson and Alexis Rioux of Middletown, her two daughters, Amanda Bengtson and Eric Peterson of Berlin and Linda Bengtson of Newington, and two grandchildren, Jayden Rioux and Lily Peterson. She also leaves her six siblings, Anthony Toce, III of Berlin, Theresa Trigila and her husband Vinny of Berlin, Rocka Walsh and her husband Tim of New Britain, Chris and his wife Mary Ellen Toce, Melissa Robinson and her husband Tim and Lisa Toce all of Berlin, mother-in-law Eleanor Bengtson of Newington, brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Patty Bengtson of Wethersfield, John and Cherilyn Bengtson of Newington, Steve and Marian Bengtson of Newington, Roseann and Brian Wolfe of Westbrook and Michael MacNamara of Berlin, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and her “adopted kids”, as she endearingly referred to those who thought of her as a second mother. She will be remembered in the hearts of many as “Mama Angel”. Angela was predeceased by her son, Andrew Bengtson, her mother, Shirley (LaFlamme) Toce, and her three sisters, Gail and Jeannie Toce and Linda MacNamara, father-in-law Charles Bengtson and brother-in-law Rocco Toce Jr.
