Angela Vickery Jones, age 67, of Rome and formerly of Newnan, passed gently into the arms of her Jesus on December 26, 2018. Angie, as she was known to all, was born in Newnan on November 26, 1951.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Vickery, Jr., her brothers Ronald Vickery and Donald Vickery. Angie attended Newnan High School and was trained as a licensed practical nurse. She married Stan Jones and celebrated their 48th anniversary on Christmas day. She became the proud mother of two sons, Robin and Joey. She loved the fact that she could become a doting grandmother. Angie was incredibly strong, instantly tender and caring. These were characteristic of the terms on which she dealt with life. Many of the circumstances she faced from childhood on could make a lesser sweet spirit bitter and hardened by the world. She was the proverbial person who chose to make lemonade out of lemons…her glass was always overflowing; even when less than full. She is survived by her siblings Tommy, Clark, Steve Vickery; Gregg, Gary, and Scott Brown. She only chose to count the blessings in her life. Two of those blessings were her mother by love, Wino Vickery, and Stan’s mother, Marvis Jones. She never doubted her God or the family that adored her and passed from this world with nothing left unsaid to those for whom she cared.
