Angela Caltabiano (nee Tomarchio) passed away on Saturday morning, April 22, 2006, in McAllen, Texas. Born and raised in Little Italy in Baltimore, Maryland, she graduated high school and became a personnel administrator at a time when, as she was fond of saying “women were supposed to be stenos”. The family moved to Weslaco in 1976 to escape the snow. Then mom spent the next 30 years complaining about the heat. She loved the local music and dance, though, and managed the Ballet Folklorico del Valle for many years.
