Anderson – Andy Sparks, Jr., 71, Anderson, died August 13, 2002 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1931 in Tennessee, and resided in Anderson, Indiana.
He lived in this area most of his life. He retired in 1985 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 20 years of service.
Previously, he was employed by Philadelphia Quartz in Anderson. He served his Country as a Sargeant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He loved guitars, music and all his special friends.
He was a devoted father, brother, uncle, grandpa and great grandpa. He is survived by his One Daughter: Sylvia & husband Richard Armstrong of Anderson. Two Sisters: Evelyn Ledbetter of Monterey, Tennessee. Loraine & husband Rowland Guerin of Huntsville, Alabama. Two Grandchildren: Amanda Grider & husband Michael Stewart of Anderson. Jordan Grider of Anderson. Two Great Grandsons: Noah Boatner of Anderson. Michael Stewart of Anderson. Three Step Grandchildren: Cassie Armstrong, Crissie Armstrong and Candy Armstrong. Several Nieces & Nephews. Special Friends: Norm Kinser and Fred Shelton.
He was preceded in death by his Beloved wife: Jewell E. Agee Sparks on June 18, 1990. Parents: John Andy & Zetty Lou Rice Sparks. Beloved Son: Mark W. Sparks. Four Brothers: Ted Sparks, Cletus Sparks, Jimmy Sparks and Cecil Sparks. One Sister: Ruby Sparks Allred. Services will be Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 11:30 AM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, South Chapel. 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Rev. Bradley Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson .
