Andrew Whitelaw Sims was born May 15th, 1938 to Robert W. and Mary Sims in Spangler, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of four children and the only boy. He grew up playing sports and causing trouble running wild in the woods of Pennsylvania. After graduating from Northern Cambria High School in Barnesboro, PA. in 1956 he joined the United States Air Force and became a Communications Specialist. While stationed in Alexandria LA. Andy met the love of his life Carolyn, they were married Jan. 17th, 1959. In 1978 Andy and Carolyn retired from the Air Force in Aurora, CO.
