Andrew Salvatore Restivo, Jr., peacefully left this world on October 10, 2022, at the age of 80, after living with Lewy Body Dementia for many years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Andrew, Andy, or “Junior,” as he was known to his aunts and uncles, grew up in the idyllic Italian-American neighborhood of Gravesend: stoopball with friends, rooting for the Dodgers, and always Sunday dinner with the family.

After graduating from Lafayette High School, he worked as a letter carrier, met his soon-to-be-wife Linda, and joined the Navy Reserve, where he trained as a computer technician. He loved cars, especially his treasured ‘62 red convertible Corvette, and he and Linda would drive around the streets of Brooklyn, looking cool.

In 1967, he and Linda married – the start of a new family. Several years later, he was honorably discharged from the Navy and recruited by IBM. After working several years in New York, IBM offered him a position in Florida, and the couple took up residence in the quiet coastal city of Boca Raton, Florida. Two years later, a daughter, Elizabeth, was born, followed by daughter Carolyn five years later and son Michael a year after that. Life was full of family, food, sports, music, theatre, and, most of all, laughter. Andrew retired from IBM in the 1990s, spent a few years traveling, and then decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of being a small business owner, running a cappuccino stand in a busy office building. Everyone in the offices adored him and couldn’t get through the day without at least one of his famous espresso drinks.

Andrew loved red wine. He taught himself to sail. Watching movies, woodworking, bird-watching, star-gazing, and reading history were some of his favorite pastimes. His eclectic musical taste ran from Broadway musicals to opera to Billy Joel. While his children were attending St.

Andrew is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Linda; his biggest fans, children Elizabeth (Lew),  Carolyn, and Michael (Amy); and older sister Anita Restivo. He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy and father Andrew, Sr.
