Andrew John “Andy” Macharsky, 59, of Sykesville, died Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. Born August 4, 1957 in Oscoda, MI, he was the son of Veronica Bozic Harbaugh of Sykesville and the late John Macharsky Jr.
He worked for many years in the construction industry as a manager for 84 Lumber Company and as an inside sales rep for John H. Myers and Sons. He served in the Marines and was a member of the Amvets in Fairfield, PA. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He graduated from Westminster High School in 1975.
Besides his mom, he is survived by step-father Donald Harbaugh, Sr., three brothers, Jack Macharsky and wife Gail of New Freedom, PA, Joe Macharsky and wife Kellie of Fairfield, PA and David Macharsky and wife Shanna Macharsky of Frederick, MD, 5 grandchildren; Amanda, Greg, Taylor, Emma and Ben. Also survived by aunts and uncles, Gary and Viki Peltier, Bart Ogozalek, Donna Bozic, and many nieces, nephews and cousins and former wife Sharon Macharsky.
