Andrew John Cruzen, 27, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away on December 30, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Andrew was born on August 21, 1987, in Belleville, IL.
In 2005, Andrew graduated from Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, MO. While attending, he served as band commander and was a recipient of the John Phillip Sousa Award and the Bausch & Lomb Science Medal and Scholarship. He graduated from St. Louis University in 2011 and was continuing his studies at Southwestern Illinois College, where he was on the Dean’s List and working to complete a degree in nursing. Andrew was President of CJS Revenue and a founding member of the band Fifty-50.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William Casey Cruzen; paternal grandfather, John William Cruzen; and maternal grandparents, Case & Inez Van Arkel.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Dr. William & Carla Cruzen, nee Van Arkel, of O’Fallon, IL; siblings, Jesse Wells Cruzen of O’Fallon, IL, and Kathryn Clair Cruzen of Pinellas Park, FL; paternal grandmother, Barbara Jean Cruzen of Pella, IA; aunt, Nancy & Jim O’Shea of Chicago, IL; Uncle John Cruzen of St. Louis, MO; and cousins Bridget O’Shea of Chicago, IL and Brian O’Shea of Raleigh, NC.
