Andrew J. Ridder, 95, of Jacksonville, IL died November 17, 2010 at the Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski, IL.
He was born August 30, 1915 in Alexander, IL; the son of John J. and Effie Mae Coker Ridder. He married Eloise Chumley on July 4, 1942 in Jacksonville and she survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Marge Aper (husband, Steven) of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Matthew Aper of Lincoln and Melissa Aper (fiancé, Beau Anderson) of Lincoln; two sisters, Rosemary Hartmeister of California and Clara Chumley of Jacksonville; two brothers, John Ridder (wife, Aggie) of New Berlin and James Ridder of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Ridder and Virgil Sperry.
Mr. Ridder was a graduate of Routt High School and served with the US Army during WW II. We worked as a carpenter with Thomas C. Chumley Construction Company prior to his over 30 year employment as a water plant operator for the City of Jacksonville. He was a member of Our Saviour Parish, American Legion Post #279, and the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers.
