Andrew E. Stykel, 58, of German Valley, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 in Rock City.
Born December 15, 1949 in Freeport he was the son of Melvin and Barbara (Trumpfheller) Stykel. He married Robin M. Groves June 20, 1970.Andrew received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb in 1979.He was a plant manager and then Vice President for Rockford Automation in the early 1980s. He was an installation manager for Ingersoll Milling in Rockford for 13 years, and presently was a facilities manager for ThyssenKrupp Krause, Inc. in Janesville, Wisconsin. Active with Boy Scouts of America he was an Eagle Scout, received the Order of the Arrow, and in his later years was active with troop #30 in German Valley. Andy was an avid hunter and fisherman.
His memberships included the National Rifle Association, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Lake Vermillion Sportsman Association. Surviving is his wife, Robin of German Valley; his parents, Melvin and Dolores Stykel of Freeport; his son, Stephen A. (fiancée, Candy Trudell) Stykel in Rochelle; and his brother, Bruce Stykel of Mazomanie, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Stykel and his brother, Loren Stykel.
