ANDREW “Drew” David James Moreland, 26, of Indianapolis, was called to his Heavenly home on Friday, June 16, 2017. He was born on Saturday, August 25, 1990 in Indianapolis, IN the middle child to Clarence and Lemar (Rushin) Moreland.
ANDREW attended Lincoln Middle School where he took honors classes and played basketball. He went on to attend Pike High School and later graduated.
ANDREW was a handsome, intelligent, kind, funny person. He loved his family deeply, especially his daughter, Kamari, his greatest pride. He loved reading her books and taking her to the library. He loved playing chess and making his friends and family laugh. He also loved boxing, mixed martial arts, was an avid rap battle watcher, and had an affinity for hip hop. Red was his favorite color. ANDREW loved eating. He was a father, son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend. He attended church at New Zion Community Church.
ANDREW worked as a shift manager at Donatosand most recently he worked at Dairy Queen. His new job takes him to a wonderful place on high where he will forever be Kamari’s guardian angel.
ANDREW, the same person who believed group text messages should be phased out of existence, sent us a group text earlier this year and said, “Stay Fuerte [strong] Everyone”. So in ANDREW’s words, stay strong everyone.
ANDREW is survived by his precious daughter, Kamari Marie Moreland; grandmothers, Helen Moreland and Joyce Rushin; parents, Clarence and Lemar Moreland; siblings, Lemar Frank (Troy) of Brownsburg, Claressa Basile (Joseph) of Avon, Clarence, Ayana, and Daniel; niece, Arisa Moreland-Woods; nephews, Zion Lindsey, Jordan Moreland, and Isaiah Frank; uncles, James Rushin, Edward Rushin, Anthony (Lisa) Moreland, Lee (Octavia) Rushin, James (Charmaign) Moreland; aunts, Joyce Rushin, Kathy Moreland, Ivory (Gilbert) Avant, and Barnetta Moreland, and a host of other beloved family and friends.
