Andrew D. Salvo, 93, husband of the late Joyce Lawrence, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2017 at Whitney Manor in Hamden. He was the son of the late Antonio and Catherine Marino Salan He leaves a brother Michael E. (Antoinette) Salvo of Hamden, a sister Vivian F. (Vincent) Zichichi of Arizona and many nieces & nephews and was predeceased by a sister Gloria Simonelli .
Andrew graduated from East Haven HS in 1942, attended Yale University School of Music & earned a degree in cello performance from Julliard School of Music in NY. He served in the US Army Airways Communications as a cryptographic technician and he later became a music teacher at the Neighborhood Music School until his retirement. He also was a cellist with the New Haven & Waterbury Symphony for many years, as a solo recitalist he performed with the Salvo Trio & the Cantilena Trio for 15 years; also at Choate School and Cheshire Academy. HS. Andrew toured with various orchestras throughout the US, Europe and Mexico.
