Andrew (Red or Ace) Carey Attaway, passed away on May 29, 2015 at the age of 83. A native and lifelong resident of the 9th Ward. Beloved son of Viola Rose Perpere and Andrew Carey Attaway, Sr. Brother of Lillian A. LeBlanc, Elsie A. Kaiser, Alton Attaway and the late Viola A. St. Pierre, Josephine A. Alberti, Clare A. Barrios, Anna Mae A. Young and Juliette A. Marino. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Attaway was a Corporal in the US Army during The Korean War. Mr. Attaway was a member of Huerstel’s Fishing Club and VFW. He was a former member of Fun and Frolic Ball Club. He was an avid golf, baseball and softball player and enjoyed discussing these topics at Bud Rip’s and Markey’s Bar. He could be called “Best Friend” by anyone who met him.
