Andrew “Andy” J. Long, 80, of Maple Lake, Bridgeport, passed away, Thursday, April 8, 2010 at United Hospital Center following a brief illness. He was born July 27, 1929 in Valley Bend the son of the late Adam B. Long and Russie Wamsley Long. He is survived by three sons: Col. David C. Long, San Diego, CA, Andrew J. Long, II of Cape Cod, MA; Sgt. Michael Long of Milford, MA; one daughter; Septembre Wilt and husband Mark of Salem; one brother; Ben Long of Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren; Brad Wilt, Courtney Paige Wilt, Brooks Long, Andrew Long, III and Ashley Long; Mr. Long was preceded in death by five brothers; Wilson, Hunter, George, Charles and Adam Long and three sisters; Edith Meinke, Ruth Ann Dickman, and Gertrude Van Devender. Mr. Long was retired from Local I.B.E.W.
