Obituary

WATSONTOWN — Andrew B. “Andy” Miller, 53, of Pennsylvania Avenue, Watsontown, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008 in the emergency room of Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Born March 19,1955 in Turbotville, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Gladys M. (Golder) Miller. On November 24, 1973 he married the former Cindy L. Wertz and they have celebrated 34 years of marriage.

A 1973 graduate of Warrior Run High School, he had worked for Interstate Trucking and most recently at Furman Foods, Northumberland.

Andy loved softball and baseball and had played baseball in high school. After graduating he played with a fast-pitch softball team in Milton. He had been a coach for Little League in Watsontown for nearly 8 years and also umpired the senior division. While his sons both played baseball at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus, Andy helped there as an assistant coach.

He loved all sports, and was an avid Phillies, Dallas Cowboys, and Penn State fan.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and daughter-in-law: Scott A. and Charity Miller and Todd M. Miller, all of Watsontown; three grandchildren: Jared, Haley, and Ryan Miller; two sisters: Cindy (Ronald) Lewis, Dewart and Amy (Randal) Hart, Allenwood; and two brothers: Timothy (Penny) Miller and Thomas (Tracy) Miller, all of Turbotville.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown with the Rev. David King of Grace Baptist Church of West Milton officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4 to 6 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the Warrior Run Athletic Association, 4800 Susquehanna Trail, Turbotville, PA 17772.
