Andrea (Andi) Renee’ Sloan was born on October 24, 1981, in Dallas, Texas.
Andi was the girlfriend of her beloved Benjamin Fuller, the love of her life. She was the daughter of her loving and proud parents Kathy and Jody, “Sissy” to her little sister, Alyssa Sloan, and future brother-in-law DJ. Andi was the future daughter-in-law of Barbara and Curt Fuller, future brother and sister-in-law, David & Erin Fuller, God daughter, Ginger & Kelly Ray Richardson, and a sweet sister to her loving friends. Above all, she was a beautiful Child of God.
Andi was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, George Alexander, maternal grandmother, Bertha Alexander, paternal grandfather, Max Sloan, paternal grandmother, Ruby Bolton, plus various loved great aunts and uncles.
Andi had an exuberant passion for sports of all kinds and was a loyal Yankees fan. She played basketball, volleyball and participated in swimming and gymnastics. Softball stole her heart and she played from the age of five (starting out on a baseball team) until she graduated college. In high school, Andi primarily played third base and various positions as needed. All four years of high school, she received multiple district awards. Andi’s softball skills earned her a scholarship at Ouachita Baptist University, where she played third base and was team captain. Andi held the NCAA Div. II records for “Least Strikeouts at Bat” and “Highest on Base Percentage”. She was a decorated athlete, avid biker, runner and triathlete.
Beyond Andi’s love for sports, her love for Jesus was the driving force of her life. Working in both secular and ministry positions, Andi served the Lord wherever she went. Andi worked in children’s ministry at First Baptist Dallas, TX and at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL, where she was the Children’s Ministry Director at South Campus. Andi traveled the world in foreign missions, working with orphans, sports ministries, and children’s programs. She served as the Children’s Editor at Child Evangelism Fellowship in Warrenton, MO.
