Andre Mecen Daceus died January 13, 2015 in Orlando, Florida Biographie Andre Mecen Daceus was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Herman Daceus and Angeline Ulysse Vincent on April 4, 1938 in Saint-Michel-De-L’Attalaye, Haiti. “Papi & Mecen,” as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, completed his primary and secondary education in Haiti. He was an intelligent man that loved Agriculture and Politics. For the next 38 years, Andre was not only an educator teaching students but became the Principal of his own school, and later, the Superintendent of the private schools in his region, Andre was able to overcome any obstacles that came his way. In 1987, he succeeded his opponent of his political party, P.D.C.H., but unfortunately, the election was null and void. In 1990, he ran again for Haitian Congress. He was a courageous man. In 2009, a new life began as our Heavenly Father guided Andre into making the United States of America his permanent home. As a loving and caring man, The Lord blessed Mecen with 4 wonderful children. Andre was a hard working father who strived to succeed and who cared deeply for all his children. He loved his family and his family loved and cherished him in return. He instilled the highest level of morals and values into his children who will undoubtedly pass on the same teachings to their children as part of his legacy. Andre made sure his children knew God first and the importance of education. They will always remember him as the devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend that he was. Papi’s love and devotion flowed from his heart to his family and then his community. He was a very giving man, always putting his family and friends first. As a faithful servant of the Lord, he loved to talk about Christ and share words of encouragement with everyone his life touched.
