Amy Nicole Armenta

February 3, 1978 – January 27, 2021 (age 42)

Amy Nicole Armenta, 42 of Tempe passed away at 10:10 am on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at HonorHealth Scottsdale-Osborn.

Amy, a proud 5th generation Arizona native, grew up in Phoenix, attending Griffith Elementary School, where she formed life-long friendships.  As a teen, she attended North High School and Metro Tech vocational school.  Her time at Metro Tech laid the groundwork for many years working in the medical field, primarily with Maricopa Medical Center and Arizona Oncology.

After 10 years in the medical field, Amy followed her passion – photography.  In 2011, she turned that passion into a business, forming Arizona Moments Photography.  Through her business, she met hundreds of great clients, many of them becoming friends.  She saw beauty in everything and used her expert lens to tell the story the precious moments she captured.

Her passion for photography was only surpassed by the passion she had for her family.  It was not uncommon to see Amy travelling in a pack with all her family, up to 4 generations of family at once.  She was proud of her blended family, consisting of children, nephews, mother and sister, grandmother. Even her ex-husband and fiancé were part of her beautifully blended “rainbow family,” as she called it.  Nothing made her happier than travelling on vacations with the pack.

Amy is survived by her husband JP Armenta, sons Jeremy and Alexander Mendez, mother Jeannie Healey, sister Angie (Mark) Munoz, ex-husband Jason (Kim and Evan Kuypers) Mendez, and nephews Nathaniel, Mac, Milo, and niece Emily.
