Amos E. Ashe, 90, of Westminster died peacefully Monday, June, 18, 2018 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center. Born on May 3, 1928 in Hampstead, Maryland he was the son of the late Harry A. and Hattie Marie (Mays) Ashe. He was the husband of 62 years to the late Ruth Russell Ashe.
Amos was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the W.W. II occupation and the Korean War. He was retired from Green Spring Dairy as a deliveryman and salesman. During his retirement he worked as a bus driver for the ARC of Carroll County. He was a member of St. Benjamin’s (Kriders) Lutheran Church, the VFW, Moose Lodge of Westminster, Kanawha Gun Club, and a volunteer at Carroll Lutheran Village. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cockeysville and served the church as a Deacon. In earlier years he was coach of youth softball and other sports. He loved traveling through-out the U.S., was an avid duckpin bowler, avid hunter, joke teller, prankster, and wonderful harmonica player.
He is survived by children Teresa Accuntius and husband, Dale of Bellbrook, OH, Nancy Ashe and husband, Charles Warren of Oxford, NC, Judy Klinger and husband, Bill of Westminster and David Ashe and wife, Beth of Bellefonte, PA; brother, George Ashe and wife Mary of White Marsh and sister, Ruth Susemihl of Towson; grandchildren, Christopher Van Horn and wife Joanna, Justin Van Horn, Cori Armstrong and husband Andrew, Ashley and Andrea Warren and Madigan and Erin Ashe; great-grandchildren, Amos and Elliott; and many nieces and nephews.
