Amelita A. Baria, 63, of River Edge, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Amelita was a devoted mother of Vanessa A. Baria and Maximillian Baria, widow to the late Doroteo C. Baria, and loving sister of Cecelia Romero, Alicia Reyes, Arnel Alcoreza, and Anabella Alcoreza. She was raised in Los Banos, Laguna, Philippines, migrated to Austria to begin her nursing career as a registered nurse, and eventually moved to New Jersey where she began raising a family for 35 years. With a master’s degree from Columbia University, Amelita worked as a nurse supervisor in many hospitals across the NJ and NY metro area.
