Amelia C. Haddad, 91, died peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, George and Rachel Haddad in Bethlehem, Pa. under the care of Hospice. Born on April 18, 1920 in Amar, Syria, to Esther and Joseph Charles, and immigrated to the United States when she was three years old. She lived in Martins Creek, graduated from Easton High School and married the late George Haddad on New Years Eve 1939. She was the mother of five children and centered her life around them, creating a loving home for her family and being a constant helpmate to her husband, a community business owner and leader. Amelia was an active member of the former Faith United Church of Christ since 1955. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed many hours of play at Brookside Country Club and the Senior Center on Elm Street in Allentown. She will be remembered for her gourmet cooking and her beautiful gardens.
