Mrs. Amelia Gay Ashy, 54, a resident of Talladega, AL passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, George P. Ashy; children, Terry Wayne Atkins (Amy) of Munford, AL, Kathy Ann Tibbs (Stephen) and Betty Joe Johnson (Brad) both of Talladega, AL; step-children, Jonathan D. Ashy, George Patrick Maurice Ashy, and Angela Nicole Ashy; brothers, John Thomas Cook of Valley and Daniel Cook of Natchez, MS; grandchildren, Jacob Tibbs, Haley Johnson, Kaitlin Tibbs, Andrew Johnson, Jordan Atkins, George Nicoli Luke Ashy, Destiny Ashy, and Drake Ashy. She was preceded in death by her parents, B.D. Cook and Amelia Faye Smith Cook, and a sister Bonnie Kaye Evans.
Mrs. Ashy was born in West Point, GA and grew up in Valley and Lanett. She was a loving homemaker and loved to travel. She was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Talladega.
