Amanda Whiting McBrier, 69, of Moreland, Georgia passed away on January 26, 2020. Amanda was born on September 16, 1950 to Earl Preston and Deborah Whiting in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

She is predeceased by her parents and her granddaughter Caroline Gable Cooley. Amanda married Timothy McBrier in 1970 and they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary on February 7, 2020. They traveled the country while Tim served in the United States Marine Corp before settling in Tim’s hometown of Moreland in 1977. She loved Arkansas her whole life but was lucky to move to her husband’s hometown. Moreland was so welcoming and a wonderful place to raise a family.

Amanda is survived by her husband Tim McBrier, their children Rusty and Ashley McBrier Hart, Thad and Erin McBrier Hackley, Aimee and Bradley Hunter McBrier, and a couple they love as their own children, Rob and Stacy Bartlett. Amanda is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Velma Whiting of Austin, Arkansas, sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Debbie Smith of Newnan, brother-in-law Tom Leiby of Hayesville, North Carolina and special nieces and nephews. Tim and Amanda’s grandchildren have brought endless joy to their lives. They are Braden and Ansley Hart Griner, Avery Nicole Hart and fiancée Ben Jarrard, John Reid McBrier and fiancée Brittany Whitford, Ryanne Elizabeth Hart, Charles William Cooley, Anna McBrier Hackley, Shali Montana Hackley, Colby James Hackley, Jones Hunter McBrier, Lilly Caroline McBrier and Lucy Katherine McBrier. Great grandchildren are Carter Holmes Griner, Barrett Ray Griner and Bristol Ellis McBrier. Amanda’s family extends a sincere appreciation to Debbie Dollar, Warren Brooks, John McLain and the rest of the A Shift of the Coweta County Fire Department Station #4.
