Amalia Ortiz Vera, 67, of San Antonio, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Amalia was born on April 29, 1953 to Enrique Ortiz and Ma Concepcion Munoz in Santa Isabel, Mexico. She met her husband Nicholas Vera in 1973 and they have been in love ever since. She worked as a cook at Meadowlands Charter School for many years. Anyone who knew Amalia loved her food, and she loved to feed people. She loved to help people in Mexico, especially the children, for whom she would collect and deliver toys and clothes. She loved to help people in general. Amalia was very loved and she loved being a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother to all her children.
She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Vera; her mother, Ma Concepcion Munoz; her son, Marco Antonio Vera; her grandchildren, Ganese Marie Vera, Kori Lee Mandry, Marco Antonio Vera ll and Ashley Nicole Vera; and her great-grandchildren Nicholas John Mandry lll, Renee Lynn Mandry, and Ellie Marie Olague.
She was preceded in death by her father, Enrique Ortiz.
The family would like to express their gratitude toward the many dear friends who have prayed and sent messages of support and love to our family.
