On Monday October 24,2022 our Angel, Alyssa M. Ortegon, received her wings.
Her passing was unexpected and a tragic loss for her family, friends and especially “her boys” and loves
of her life: her son, Apollo, boyfriend, Dennis, and her fury four-legged son, Dexter. She was loved and
will be missed by her parents, siblings as well as her very extended family of aunts, uncles, tons of loving cousins,
and her grandparents.
Alyssa was always known for her loving heart and beautiful smile. To know her is to love her. Her ability
to be herself and have fun with no regard for what people said or thought will always be admired. She
loved to sing and dance, and she was good at both. Her singing earned her a singing part on the
Mariachi De Los Nino’s without being able to speak or understand Spanish and she nailed it. She was
also a very proud member of the Wheat Ridge High School Pom Squad Dance Team. Her ability to learn
and the confidence to try new things started at a very young age. From elementary school talent shows
through playing the flute in high school when she was asked to accompany the marching band to
perform in Hawaii, and off she went.
Alyssa loved her family and loved to be around them watching the Broncos play or any Colorado team
for that matter, she was truly a Homer! She also loved to fish, was able to load her own hooks and gut
her own fish; something she was very proud of. At 26 years young she touched a lot of hearts and will be
deeply missed by many. The one thing she was most proud of was being a mom. Her Boys were her
world and as a young mother she had a lot to prove and tried her best. Her passing will leave a huge
void in all our lives, and she will be missed but never forgotten. We all love you, Alyssa….
