Alyssa (Ali) Danielle Hansen left this earth to join her Heavenly Father on March 4, 2021, after 31 years of blessing this world with love and compassion. She was a light to her family, the world, and had a never ending smile.
Ali was born to Karry and Denise Hansen (Herbert) on July 14, 1989, at her family’s home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. From the very first day we met Ali we knew she would live life on her terms. She surprised us by arriving quickly and on her own time frame. She was the most beautiful baby girl and was quickly adored by her siblings and parents. At an early age Alyssa acquired many nicknames, but a few seemed to stick-Ali, Ali-Cat, Al-Pal and Baby Cakes. These nicknames seemed to match her fun and loving personality. Ali loved to do anything active. She was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rockies and loved to attend their games and watch at home. Ali wasn’t just a fan but she also loved playing sports-her favorites being softball and basketball. She was a natural leader and her teammates were drawn to her. Ali earned a degree in sports broadcasting. She had an uncanny ability to remember players names and stats. She was always up for hiking a 14er or to play and have a good time with her parents, siblings and nieces and nephews. Ali was up for anything and always wanted one of us by her side to do it. Her fearlessness and love of adventure began at the age of two when she climbed to the top of Devil’s Head refusing to be carried or helped by her family and earning a spot on their wall as the youngest climber to do so.
Ali made sure to find time to reach out and help anyone who needed it. We knew Ali was a good, caring friend, but we had no idea the extent of her loving reach. The pages set up in her honor and friends who have reached out to us to tell us how much Ali meant to them or shared kind words about Ali online have meant so much to our family. Ali’s love and compassion for her family and friends was something to behold. She just wanted to help everyone and love and be loved.
Ali was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfred Hansen, Esther Hansen, Wanda Jean Herbert. She is survived by her parents Karry and Denise Hansen; brother Benton (Kimberly) Hansen; sisters Kara (Quentin) Allen, Sharilyn Hansen, Breana (Jon) Fitzgerald; nieces Addie, Nora and Jane Allen, Novalee Hansen-Raney, Kate Hansen, Makena and Billie Fitzgerald; nephews Cohen, Miles and Grant Allen and her Grandpa Irvin Herbert. Also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ali, we want you to know how much we love you. We miss you already and more than we have words to express.
