Alvis Dewey Jordan, born on Oct. 29, 1930 in Camden, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019. He and his wife of 60 years, Candace, have been residents of Cocoa Beach since 2016.

In addition to his wife Candace, he is survived by his three children, Karen (Jim Kuzma), Debra (Marvin Pyles) and Bradford, seven grandchildren, Michael (Andrea), Jordan (Patricia), Lauren (Aaron Possinger), Candace, Marlee, Cecelia, and Maxwell and two great granddaughters, Ariana and Lillian.    

The first of his family to attend college, he earned a B.S. Degree in Public Administration from the University of Maryland (1959) and M.S. Degree in Highway Traffic Safety Administration from Michigan State University (1965).  An avid sportsman, Dewey loved horses, and was an ardent supporter of University of Maryland athletics and the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens.

Dewey served in the Army from 1955 -1957 and the FBI as a Correlation Analyst generating reports for the White House, Attorney General and other high government officials before beginning his 50+ year career in the National Highway Traffic Safety and National Transportation Standards.
