Those left to honor Alvin’s memory are his daughter, Judy Petersen of Newton; two grandchildren, Gretchen Dye of Aubrey, Texas and Errich Petersen of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Wayne, Jacee and Jordan; his brother, Donald M. Rempp of Grinnell, Iowa; and his special nephews and niece.

Alvin W. Rempp, the son of Earl A. and Lorella (Macy) Rempp, was born on February 9, 1915 in Beacon, Iowa. He grew up on a farm 3 miles south of Montezuma, Iowa. He graduated from Montezuma High School and then attended 2 years of college. Alvin served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Alvin moved to Newton, Iowa in 1934 to work for his uncle James Rempp. He was united in marriage with Elma Pauline Schimmelpfennig on March 11, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa. Alvin worked for Dun-Lap Manufacturing in Newton for 32 years, retiring in 1981.
